Application Process

1. Be sure to read and understand the changes to Parent PLUS processing.
2. Complete the Parent PLUS Request Process online at www.studentaid.gov. The parent borrower must sign in using their federal FSA ID. If you do not have a federal FSA ID, you may create one at https://studentaid.gov/fsa-id/create-account/launch.
3. If you have not received a Parent PLUS loan at The University of Alabama previously, complete a Master Promissory Note (MPN) online at studentaid.gov.
4. Allow 10 business days for your application to be processed. During peak seasons, the application process may take up to 3 weeks.

If you do not have Internet access or are unable to complete the Parent PLUS application online at studentaid.gov, please contact our office at 205-348-6756 and request a paper application.
